Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
Complete OTT media hype about AC after his first goal
in 9 months, claims even he should be in World Cup squad!!
He was garbage until the goal and has been garbage all season. If we have players who csn put the ball on his head twice a game like Payet used to he is worth keeping, we don’t & we won’t have that player. Next key point, he is always one jump away from a lengthy injury. We allknow he won’t be fit for the rest of the season.

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
Can we afford to get rid of players right now who might just nick us a win?

This goes for Ayew too.

Unfortunately, it's all about staying up right now, building a new side may have to wait a couple of months.

I take your point NS.

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
If he is on his ALLEGED £100k a week in his time here we have paid out nigh on £29m... so almost a £1m per goal... and Brady has the sauce to have a pop at Snodgrass

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
He's not worth what hes been paid. He doesnt do it often enough and is mostly just boozing and eating kebabs allegedly.

Tom.. you can't have your MAIN striker average under 6 goals a season... that's a big problem... and it should be someone elses

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
Injuries aside Carroll is a good player, far better than some on here would have you believe.

Yeah found that a bit strange Road... as the way you posted up on here sounded like you two were Par-tay-ing when he slid in the winner

"lack of celebration"
Er?

Great for us he did what he did last night but everything he does is so short-term.

In one Russ.... 5 1/2 seasons he has been with us and scored now 32 goals.... that averages out at under 6 goals a season for his £100k a week... let it be someones else's problem

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
I can't believe he is off anywhere - who would take him based on his recent form and the massive wages he is on.

As for the lack of celebration, he doesn't have to come on forums like this to know that most of the fans have written him off and been giving him dogs' abuse so no surprise if he doesn't particularly feel like celebrating with the fans.

He will always be a very limited footballer but as we saw last night, give him the ball in the right way and in the right place and he's lethal. Trouble is, he's playing in a very limited team, so that doesn't happen very often. That's what the manager has to weigh up - can we play to his strengths in such a way that makes it worthwhile putting him in the team?

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
Carroll, technically, is a curse to West Ham. And last night is evidence of that.

Has literally done fuck all this season and then plays like that. All he does is prolong his stay at the club which, in my mind, is not what we need.

Great for us he did what he did last night but everything he does is so short-term.

He talked about after. Said he was exhausted basically.

As far as being popular, it is hard to truly love the guy at this point because of the stop/start nature of his fitness and therefore his play but WHO (at least loud and very repetitive elements of it) tends to dislike him more than any other segment of West Ham supporters I have been around, including when I am able to get to games.

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
Doesn't really matter how poor you look during 90 minutes of football if you spend two seconds making contact with the ball, it ends up in the net twice and you win the game.

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing on motd last night, when they talked about him being the best header in the league and how he can outjump anyone and being unplayable.

He certainly hasn’t been for the previous 9 months when he didn’t score. And aside from the two goals he was awful last night. Far too often not even in the box and out wide where he’s totally ineffctive, didn’t chase people down, still so unable to rein himself in when jumping or tackling that he makes himself an easy target for refs to give free kicks against him, slow, terrible control and missed a great chance before he scored

Admittedly though the team in general were poor, again the gap between the front players and midfield was ridiculous and it was only after noble came on and as West Brom tired that you even noticed we had central midfielders on the pitch

Carroll should still just be an impact sub at best

£15m?

This isn't Championship Manager you know. We'd be pulling their pants down if they paid that.

Heathrow

Then Newcastle

Sign on the dotted line....take the £15M and run

Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
Didn’t see much in the supposed non-celebration tbh. Relief as he hadn’t scored since April, his first start since November, and in the meantime he’d made some poorly worded comments that only heightened the abuse he always gets anyway. The fact that Adrian ran the whole length of the pitch to celebrate with him said exactly how important it was to the team as a whole, and that he’s still a popular member of the dressing room

cholo 10:32 Wed Jan 3
Re: Where does Andy Carroll go from here?
If there was a deal done for him to leave would he actually be starting considering he's made of balsa wood?

I can't believe that.
